Collection: Silver - Bronze Age Keys
Amazing Fantasy 15 is the definite King of Silver Age and most probably the 3rd most significant comic book of all times, following only the legendary Action Comics #1 (1st Superman) and Detective Comics #27 (1st Batman). It is the book that introduced to the world the most popular super-hero of all times, Peter Parker aka the Amazing Spider-Man.
Issue numbered 15 was actually the last one of the Amazing Fantasy run, but the one that earned a place in popular culture history. It was so successful that it led to the launch of the "Amazing Spider-man" series, seven months later.
Besides it's undoubtable historical significance, the story behind the origin of Spidey and how Ditko managed to fit so much in so few pages is both enjoyable and admirable. An issue that will be appreciated for generations to come, for sure.
I actually kick-started my Silver Age collection with this particular book and aimed to find a mid-grade issue with no marvel chipping (a very common flaw of 1960s Marvel books), writing or rust on staples and when I came across this copy, I fall for it.
